Most of our Arab calls come from Main Street and the North Brindlee corridor, though we work the whole Marshall County side of it and get out to Albertville regularly.
The mix of housing here matters for door work. Older Arab homes have wood frames and hardware worth repairing rather than replacing, while newer construction tends to have vinyl and aluminum systems where the moving parts wear out long before anything else does.

Up on the plateau the thermometer reads several degrees colder than the valley, and it stays below freezing longer. Ice storms are a real planning item here, not a novelty.
A gust catching a storefront door with no overhead stop drives it past its limit and destroys the closer arm, and repeated wind loading is what works a door off its pivots.
Every customer brings grit through the door, and it collects in exactly the two places that matter: the bottom pivot and the threshold, which is why entrance doors need cleaning and adjustment on a schedule.
Knowing that is the difference between a repair that holds through a Arab summer and one that does not.
Local factors we account for in Arab: storm wind and grit and dust — typical of the Sand Mountain and Lookout Mountain plateau.

- Check the corners of the doorA dropped bottom rail is the single most common storefront failure, and it mimics half a dozen other faults.
- Check the closer independentlyWe disconnect and test the closer separately so we know whether the resistance is the closer or the door binding.
- Secure before we finishIf the deadlatch or the cylinder is the problem, the door is made lockable before we leave, whatever else is outstanding. We check the drainage for ice blockage on mountain openings, which is a fault that only shows up on the coldest days.
- Rebuild the rail properlyWhere the bottom rail has separated, it is reassembled with the glass correctly blocked rather than packed and hoped for.
- Set the closer to codeOpening force and closing speed adjusted for accessibility and for the actual traffic through the door.
- Leave the entrance right for customersIt should open with light pressure, close reliably and lock first time. Anything less will be back on your list.
One call gets you an answer. We will tell you what is wrong and what it takes to fix.
Click to Call (205) 619-2895What affects the cost of storefront door repair in Arab
There is no single price for storefront door repair in Arab, because two doors with identical symptoms can need very different work. Here is what makes the difference:
- after-hours or emergency scheduling
- frame damage from forced entry
- concealed and floor closers versus surface mounted units
- whether the pivots, closer, or both need replacing
- hardware grade and ADA compliance requirements
Call and describe what the door is doing. In most cases we can tell you over the phone which of those applies to you before anyone drives out to Arab.

Click to Call (205) 619-2895Storefront door repair in Arab: questions we get asked
Do you replace storefront glass?
Yes, tempered glass for doors, sidelites and transoms. Board-up happens first so you can trade, and the glass follows once the unit is made.
Someone broke in and bent the frame. Is it repairable?
In most cases. Aluminum frames damaged at the lock and strike can be straightened and reinforced. We secure the opening first and then do the permanent repair.
Why does our storefront door drag at the top corner?
The bottom pivot has worn. The door is pivoting on a bearing that carries its entire weight, and when that wears the door drops and the top outside corner comes down against the frame. Replacing the pivot brings the whole door back into position.
Water comes under our front door when it storms. What fixes that?
A new sweep and threshold seal, and sometimes correcting the drainage at the entrance. In Marshall County storms drive water horizontally, so the seal has to work under pressure, not just gravity.
The bottom rail of our door is coming loose. Is that serious?
Yes. The bottom rail holds the glass. Once its connection loosens, the glass is no longer properly supported and the door is on borrowed time.
Can you add a panic bar to our storefront door?
Yes, and depending on the occupancy of your Arab building it may be required. Exit devices can be fitted to most aluminum storefront doors.
