My screen mesh has gone brittle and crumbles. What happened?
UV exposure. Screens on the south and west sides of a house in Clio take a lot of sun, and standard fiberglass mesh eventually degrades. Solar mesh lasts longer and cuts heat at the same time.
Do you make custom-size screens?
Yes. Older openings in Clio are rarely a stock size, and building a panel to the actual measured opening is the only way to get one that fits and stays in.
Will a solar screen make my room cooler?
It helps noticeably on a sunny exposure. Solar mesh blocks a good portion of the heat before it reaches the glass, which matters on west-facing doors during Clio summers.
Is it worth rescreening or should I just buy a new screen door?
Rescreening is far cheaper and the frame is usually fine. New panels only make sense when the frame is bent beyond straightening or the corners are gone.
My storm door blew open and broke. Can it be repaired?
