Saraland sits in Mobile County, and our work here runs from the Industrial Parkway corridor out past the Saraland civic complex, with Prichard and Tillmans Corner close enough that we are usually in the area anyway.
The mix of housing here matters for door work. Older Saraland homes have wood frames and hardware worth repairing rather than replacing, while newer construction tends to have vinyl and aluminum systems where the moving parts wear out long before anything else does.
One call gets you an answer. We will tell you what is wrong and what it takes to fix.

Between roughly 65 inches of rain a year, near-constant humidity and a June-to-November hurricane season, coastal doors work harder than doors anywhere else in Alabama.
Humidity corrodes the steel components in screen rollers and rusts the tiny springs in adjusters, so screens seize up and drop out of their track.
Rain drives grit and organic debris into the screen track, and that debris packs down under the rollers and holds moisture against the frame.
Knowing that is the difference between a repair that holds through a Saraland summer and one that does not.
Local factors we account for in Saraland: sustained humidity and heavy rainfall — typical of the Alabama Gulf Coast.

- Check it against the openingWe run the frame through its travel and watch where it tightens, which shows whether the fault is the frame or what it runs in.
- Assess the frame for squareA racked frame will not sit in the track properly no matter what mesh is in it.
- Match the mesh to the exposureOn a sun-facing opening, standard fibreglass will be brittle within a couple of seasons, so we specify accordingly.
- Rescreen with correct tensionToo tight and the frame bows, too loose and it billows. Even tension is what keeps a screen flat and quiet.
- Fit and adjust the rollersBoth rollers set so the frame runs level and the latch meets its keeper without lifting.
- Test the full travelEnd to end, several times, with the latch engaging cleanly at the close. On the coast we also check every fastener on the opening, because salt finds plated screws long before it touches the door itself.

Click to Call (205) 619-2895What affects the cost of screen door repair in Saraland
We would rather tell you what drives the price than quote a number that turns out to be wrong once we see the door. On a screen door repair job in Saraland, the main variables are these:
- custom-built replacement panels where the original is not repairable
- the size of the panel
- rescreening versus repairing or replacing the frame
- roller and track work in addition to the screen itself
- the mesh type chosen, from standard fiberglass to pet-resistant and solar
Call and describe what the door is doing. In most cases we can tell you over the phone which of those applies to you before anyone drives out to Saraland.

Click to Call (205) 619-2895Screen door repair in Saraland: questions we get asked
My storm door blew open and broke. Can it be repaired?
Usually yes: the closer and its mounting take the damage. We repair the mounting and fit a wind chain so the next gust does not do the same thing.
Can a bent screen frame be straightened?
Sometimes. Light aluminum frames can often be brought back to square, but a badly racked frame is usually better replaced, and a custom panel is not expensive.
My screen mesh has gone brittle and crumbles. What happened?
UV exposure. Screens on the south and west sides of a house in Saraland take a lot of sun, and standard fiberglass mesh eventually degrades. Solar mesh lasts longer and cuts heat at the same time.
What mesh should I use if I have dogs?
Pet-resistant mesh, which is a heavier vinyl-coated polyester, and often a pet grille across the lower section. Standard fiberglass will not survive a dog that pushes against it.
My sliding screen keeps falling out. Why does it keep happening?
The rollers have worn down so the panel is riding too low and the top rail no longer sits in the head channel. Lifting it back in without replacing the rollers means it will come out again, usually within days.
Do you repair storm doors as well as screens?
Yes, including closers, latches, sweeps, hinges and glass or screen inserts. Storm door closers that have torn out of the frame after a gust are one of the most common calls.
